Graham Smith MSOE IRTE BEng(Hons)
Since leaving school, Graham has always had a fascination with anything mechanical, thus leaving school at 16 and undertaking an indentured apprenticeship with a Scania truck agent working on trucks, trailers and plant.
Whilst completing the apprenticeship, Graham also completed ONC and HNC Mechanical Engineering day release. This then led onto completing a Mechanical Engineer (Hons) degree and employment thereafter within a Caterpillar dealership for 8 years, working in Europe, Africa and Russia. He took over Commercial Bodyworks in 2002 where he put all his worldly experience to great use in developing the growth of the business to its current position. This then led to the purchase of Yaxley Coachworks in late 2012.
Andrew Carver BEng (Hons)
Andrew started his career in similar fashion to Graham, with an engineering apprenticeship within the RMC engineering division and then a full time Mechanical Engineering degree. Post grad positions followed, with Redland and Ibstock and then to the post of General Manager at Seaborne Plastics. Andrew then took over CBW in 2002, after Graham persuaded him to join forces in developing the Company to what it is today.
Richard Knighton
Richard started his commercial vehicle career at a DAF truck dealership in Peterborough. During his time there he spent over 5 years learning the business from the ground up and eventually moved to the administration side of the business. It’s here that he realised he was a great asset to the business and was soon approached by a market leader in the commercial vehicle rental market to run one of their busiest branches – Peterborough. As Operations Manager he was charged with managing a fleet of over 300 trucks and trailers with his team. Then in 2007 a change of direction placed him at the door of Yaxley Coachworks, where his diverse knowledge in all aspects of commercial vehicles and customer service is a real asset to the business.
